1. Who we are
AfterLook is an iPhone app made by AutoSolve Labs (“AutoSolve Labs”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what information AfterLook collects, why, who it is shared with, how long it is kept and the choices you have. It covers the AfterLook app and this website. If you have a question, email [email protected].
2. What we collect
| Category | What it includes | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Account | Your Sign in with Apple identifier, or the email address you verify with a one-time code; display name, username and optional avatar. | To create and secure your account and save your work. |
| Photos you choose | Only the photos you pick in the system photo picker or take with the camera, after on-device cropping. Location metadata is removed before upload. Optional side and back photos if you add them. | To make the AI previews, comparisons and guides you ask for. |
| AI previews and Looks | Generated previews, Look versions, collections, notes, guides, plans and Journey entries, including real-result photos you add. | To show, compare and organise your work. |
| Style profile and memory | Preferences you state (for example liked styles, changes to avoid, maintenance time) and any preference you confirm for the style advisor to remember. | To make suggestions more useful. You can view, remove or reset it. |
| Style advisor messages | The questions you ask the AI style advisor and its replies. | To answer you and keep your conversation. |
| Circles content | Circles you create or join, invitations, posts, replies, polls and votes, reports and blocks. | To run private, invite-only feedback groups and keep them safe. |
| Purchases | Plan status, purchase and renewal events, and your credit balance and history. Payment card details are handled by Apple; we never see them. | To grant the credits and plans you pay for. |
| Age and consent records | Your age band and how it was determined (for example Apple’s Declared Age Range), never your full birthdate or an ID document. Receipts of consents you give (AI processing, auto-renewal). For 16–17-year-olds, the parent or guardian’s email, approval time, policy version and region. | To meet age, consent and subscription laws. |
| Device and notifications | A push notification token if you turn notifications on; app version, device model and operating system; your timezone for the weekly Drop. | To deliver notifications you asked for, keep the app working and prevent abuse. |
| Support | Messages you send us and anything you choose to attach, such as one image or access to one failed job. | To help you. |
We do not collect your contacts, precise location, browsing history or advertising identifier. AfterLook does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
3. What stays on your device
Before anything is uploaded, AfterLook checks your photo on your iPhone using Apple’s on-device Vision framework: it finds faces, lets you tap your own face in a group photo, crops to you and blurs anyone else in the crop, and checks for blur, lighting or sunglasses. These checks run in memory on your device. Only simple results, such as how many faces were found, leave your phone. AfterLook does not create or keep face templates or faceprints.
4. AI processing by OpenAI
To create your AI previews, style suggestions, guides and advisor replies, AfterLook sends the photos you choose and your stated preferences to our AI provider, OpenAI. OpenAI’s models analyse the photo to edit it, which can include the shape and position of your facial features. Some state laws treat that as biometric information, so we ask for your explicit consent first and record a receipt.
- Purpose only. We use this only to make the previews and suggestions you ask for, and to keep AfterLook safe. We do not use your photos to identify or recognise you, and we never sell your photos or profit from them beyond providing the service you asked for.
- No training. Your photos and messages are not used to train AI models. Under OpenAI’s API terms, business data is not used for training by default.
- Provider retention. OpenAI may keep request data for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring, separately from AfterLook’s own storage, unless a shorter retention arrangement applies.
- Labelling. Generated images are labelled “AI preview” in the app. Content provenance metadata (C2PA) that OpenAI attaches to generated images is preserved.
- Revoking. You can turn off AI processing at any time in Settings › Privacy & AI. That stops future processing; your existing Looks stay viewable, exportable and deletable.
5. How we use information
- Provide AfterLook: Reveals, the Studio, Looks, guides, the style advisor, Discover, Circles, polls, Journey and notifications.
- Process purchases and keep an accurate credit ledger, including returning credits for failed previews.
- Keep people safe: moderate uploads, outputs, posts, poll questions and usernames; handle reports, blocks, appeals and removal requests; prevent fraud and abuse of free allowances.
- Meet legal obligations, including age assurance, parental consent and reporting duties.
- Fix bugs and improve reliability using first-party, aggregate diagnostics. Logs never contain image bytes or your prompts.
- Send transactional emails (sign-in codes, receipts, deletion warnings, an annual subscription reminder). We do not send marketing email without your permission.
6. Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers that help us run AfterLook, under contracts that limit their use of it:
- OpenAI — AI image editing, style analysis and advisor replies (see section 4).
- Cloudflare — hosting, databases and private storage for your photos and Looks.
- RevenueCat — verifying App Store purchases and subscription status.
- Apple — Sign in with Apple, App Store payments, Declared Age Range and push notifications.
- Our email provider — sending sign-in codes and transactional email.
Within the app, content you post to a Circle is visible to that Circle’s current members. Links you create are visible to the audience you choose and can be revoked. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect someone’s safety, or as part of a business transfer, in which case this policy continues to apply. Where the law requires it, we report child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.
We do not sell or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we do not show ads.
7. How long we keep it
| Data | How long |
|---|---|
| Unsaved photos, drafts and previews | Deleted after 24 hours. |
| Saved originals, Looks and real-result photos | Until you delete them or your account. |
| Inactive accounts | Source photos and AI previews are deleted after 12 months without signing in, after a 30-day warning by email and notification. |
| When you delete your account | Access is revoked immediately, your Sign in with Apple token is revoked and your purchase-service customer record is deleted. Your data is then removed from active storage and from backups under our deletion policy. |
| Anything that could count as biometric information | Destroyed when the purpose above ends, and in any case within the limits above (no later than 12 months after your last use), unless the law requires us to keep it. |
| Consent receipts (AI, auto-renewal, parental) | Life of the account plus 3 years, to show we asked. |
| Credit ledger totals | Pseudonymised totals, with no media, for 7 years for tax purposes. |
| Moderation cases and removal requests | 3 years. |
| Operational logs | 30 to 90 days, with no image bytes or prompts. |
8. Your choices
- Delete one photo (you’ll see which Looks depend on it), individual Looks, or your whole account, in Settings › Privacy. Deleting your account does not cancel an Apple subscription; cancel it in your Apple account settings. Unused credits are not refunded on deletion.
- Export a copy of your data from Settings › Privacy.
- Memory: review or remove what the style advisor remembers, or reset personalisation. Resetting does not delete saved Looks.
- AI processing: turn it off in Settings › Privacy & AI.
- Notifications: choose categories, set quiet hours, mute a Circle or turn them off.
- Camera and photos: AfterLook uses the camera only when you tap Take photo, and only sees the photos you pick.
You can also email [email protected] for any of these.
9. Teens and children
AfterLook is for people aged 16 and over. If you are 16 or 17, a parent or guardian must approve before any photo is uploaded, including consent to AI processing by OpenAI. They receive a confirmation email with a link to withdraw approval at any time, which pauses the teen account while keeping export and deletion available. Teen accounts have extra protections: no public profile or posting, curated Discover only, no contact from unknown adults, and quiet hours from 9 pm to 8 am. Product analytics and advisor memory are off for teens unless they opt in.
People under 16 can only view examples and cannot create an account or upload. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if we learn we have, we delete it. Parents can contact us to review or delete a teen’s data.
10. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Virginia and other US states), you may have the right to know what personal information we hold, get a copy, correct it, delete it, and opt out of sale, targeted advertising or profiling. AfterLook does not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising or profiling with legal effects. To exercise a right, use the in-app tools or email us. We will verify your request through your account, respond within the time the law requires, and not discriminate against you for using your rights. You may appeal a decision by replying to our response. California residents under 18 may ask us to remove content they posted.
Do Not Track. AfterLook does not track you across third-party sites, so it responds to Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals in the same way it treats everyone: no cross-site tracking.
11. Security
Your photos are stored privately and are only accessible through your signed-in account or the audiences you choose. Data is encrypted in transit, access by our team is limited and logged, and support does not see your private portraits unless you attach or authorise a specific item. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will notify you as the law requires.
12. This website
getafterlook.app is a static site. It uses no cookies, analytics or third-party trackers. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and request time) for security.
13. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above. If a change materially affects how we use your photos or AI processing, we will ask for your consent again in the app before new uploads.
